Who Runs The South?

Overview:

The "Who Runs the South" community service initiative is organized by chapters associated with Clayton-Henry Counties of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) to highlight the spirit of unity and community service among the Divine Nine (D9) organizations. This prestigious gathering invites each D9 fraternity and sorority to present a unique community service project that their chapter has undertaken within the year. The aim is to inspire a sense of camaraderie and philanthropy, encouraging all D9 organizations to attend, share insights, and learn from each other's initiatives. This initiative is in line with the National project for Unity 4 life which fosters a sense of camaraderie and collaboration.

How it Works:

Any organization will choose a community service project or organization they are passionate about. This could range from food drives, clothing donations, neighborhood cleanups, volunteering at local shelters, or any other meaningful endeavor.

Organizations can support the various causes in two ways: Time and Item Donations.

Time Donations: Members can volunteer their time to actively participate in community service activities, whether it's a few hours at a local charity or an entire day helping a non-profit organization.

Item Donations: Teams can collect and donate essential items, such as non-perishable food, clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, or any items that their chosen cause requires.

The sponsoring organization will keep a tally of time and donated items for each organization that participates.  The organization that either donates the most items or has the most people show up to volunteer will be deemed the winner for that event.

At the end of the challenge period, we will celebrate the remarkable efforts of our members. One organization will be recognized for their dedication, creativity, and impact. An award will be presented to one organization that goes above and beyond in their community service endeavors.
